The Kids R Kids VPK Program:

Continuing to nurture your preschooler`s mind, the Kids 'R' Kids Pre-Kindergarten program is filled with enjoyable activities for any student. This is the next stop on your child`s way toward elementary learning. Here children become students, and learning is driven by student development and imagination.

Our program meets nationally ranked standards, has literature-based themed units, and incorporates all learning styles. The program`s goal is to help each student succeed to his or her fullest potential, which is why each unit of study was developed with the student-learner in mind.

VPK activities include hands-on groups in small and large formations, independent study, and realistic application. The learning stations and curriculum were designed to help introduce and build student comprehension. Through independent and cooperative learning strategies, students are able to apply thought, imagination, and creativity into their education experiences.

This program is broken down into 3 categories: academic concentration, individual and group connections, and station enhancements. The academic concentrations are comprised of whole group learning sessions where students will receive initial introduction to subject matter. Our individual and group connections help students apply what they have learned, and focus on building individual comprehension. Pre-Kindergarten station enhancements provide the following:

  • Alphabet Station - introduction to language association through a variety of materials and skill strategies
  • Art Station - free choice application for students where materials are used to express imagination
  • Construction Station - spatial awareness and geometric study demonstrated through stacking, sorting, building, and recreating
  • Dramatic Play Station - encouraging individual and group role play activities with realistic and imaginary props
  • Number Station - applying math skills through a variety of materials and strategies
  • Reading Station - independent and guided activities to help increase student vocabulary and literacy development with a wide range of appropriate materials
  • Science/Sensory Station - experimenting with materials through object manipulation to increase knowledge and stretch the imagination
  • Writing Station - beginning letter formation and grammar structure through a variety of materials and skill strategies

As students continue to learn about themselves and the environment around them, Kids 'R' Kids reinforces its belief of "Hug First, Then Teach". Each student is encouraged and praised in a positive manner to build self-esteem, and create memorable learning experiences.

The VPK year follows the Hillsborough County School District's Schedule.  Registration is held in during the summer and into the beginning of the school year.  Please contact us to schedule a tour.
